Round and round ....

Ik kan alleen nog maar rondjes haken geloof ik!

Het is gelukkig ook nog 's heel leuk om te doen....

Het rechter patroontje is van Attic 24,

gemaakt om te gebruiken voor een hele grote wand vol gehaakte rondjes.

Lijkt me een prachtig gezicht !

Deze gaat ook op de post naar Engeland...

It seems I can only crochet in circles these days!

Fortunately it's also great fun to do...

The pattern on the right is from Attic 24,

made for using a large wall display full of crochet mandala's.

That must be an amazing sight!

This one is also going in the post to England...

En ik me maar afvragen waar je die mandala's voor kan gebruiken....

Ik had het kunnen weten natuurlijk!

And there I was, wondering how to use those mandala's...

I should have known of course !

Mijn ronde tafelkleed is ook klaar!

Ik kan 'm helaas nog niet gebruiken buiten vanwege alle regenbuien en 

windhozen.

My round tablecloth is also finished!

I can't use it outside yet because of all the rain and wind....

Best groot geworden hè?

Zo als deken is ie eigenlijk ook wel leuk.

Het fleurt in ieder geval de boel een beetje op in deze herfstige dagen!

Hele fijne maandag, hopelijk lekker warm binnen met 

een kop warme thee ofzo... ;-)

Salad & crochet

Kijk nou 's! Ons eerste radijsje uit eigen tuin!

Mooi hè? En lekker was ie ook :-)...

De rest moet nog even verder groeien.

Look at that! Our first little radish from the garden!

Pretty isn't it? And also very tasty :-)...

The rest of them has to grow a bit further.

We hebben twee moestuinbakken met allerlei soorten

sla, radijzen,bieslook, rozemarijn, lente uitjes, erwten, basilicum en dille.

Dit is het eerste jaar dat we ze hebben dus ik ben heel benieuwd hoe

het verder gaat met onze saladebar!

We have two gardening boxes with all sorts off lettuce, radishes, chives, rosemary,

spring onions, peas, basil and dille.

This is the first year we are trying this so I am very curious how this

works out!

Vanavond konden we al van de pluksla eten;

super lekker zo vers!

This evening we already could eat some of the lettuce;

fresh and delicious!

En nu even heel wat anders: de crochet along deken.

Tot mijn grote schaamte moet ik bekennen dat ik ben gestopt...

Ik was lekker op dreef en vond het heerlijk om met al die

kleuren en patronen in de weer te zijn, maar...

And now for something completely different: the crochet along blanket.

I am very ashamed to say that I quit...

I was doing nicely and loved making all those different stitches and

working with all those colours , but...

... hier ergens ging het mis. 

Ik verloor niet 1 steekje ofzo maar een heleboel!

Ik haakte op goed geluk nog een paar rijen verder en dacht dat het

nog wel zou bij trekken (ik verloor duidelijk niet alleen haak steken...).

Dat deed het natuurlijk niet en het werd redelijk rampzalig.

Ondertussen had ik ook al braaf alle draden weggewerkt dus het uithalen

werd ook al niks; met andere woorden: het is nu een kattendekentje!

Misschien vat ik ooit nog wel de moed om aan een nieuwe te beginnen...

.... somewhere around here things went wrong.

I didn't just lost one stitch but a whole lot!

I crocheted on and thought for some reason it would be o.k. in the end.

Of course it wasn't o.k. at all and it became a bit of a disaster actually.

I already sewed in all the ends so I couldn't use the yarn again;

in other words: it is a cat blanket now!

Maybe somewhere in the future I feel brave enough to start a new one...

Nou hè, hè, dat werd wel weer eens tijd!

En omdat het 1 mei is en ik eindelijk mijn winkeltje geopend heb

(Echt waar hoor ! Ik kan het wel ;-)), leek me dat een goede

reden om eens wat weg te geven....

It was about time!

And because it's the 1st of May and I finally opened my little shop

(yes, honest!I did it! ;-)), it seemed like a good

reason to give something away.....

Van dit soort hangers ga ik er nog meer maken voor in 't winkeltje,

maar deze kun je dus winnen; gewoon even hieronder een reactie 

achterlaten!

Ow... en dat winkeltje.... sjongejonge...

Ik heb eerst heel lang zelf zitten rommelen om een website te maken

maar het werd maar niet naar mijn zin!

Ik heb ook veel te weinig spullen te verkopen dus het zag er 

nogal triest uit vond ik...

Uiteindelijk over gestapt naar DaWanda.... en vandaag gewoon zomaar

het lint voor de opening doorgeknipt en maar zien of er mensen

binnenkomen! 

En of ze het wel leuk vinden... 

( Onzeker? Ik? ;-))

I am going to make more of this kind of hangers for my little shop,

Oh my... that shop of mine...

First I made a website to sell my things but I couldn't

get it right how I wanted to!

I just haven't got enough to sell and it looked a bit sad I thought...

In the end I switched to DaWanda... 

and today I just cut the ribbon to open the shop and see if people

are coming in!

And if they will like it...

(Insecure? Me? ;-))

Ik ben nog niet zo heel handig met DaWanda maar dat zal hopelijk

nog wel komen...

Ik zou zeggen, kom gezellig even buurten!

Dat kan dus hier :-)

Op 15 mei zal de notaris de winnaar bekendmaken.

I'm not very handy yet with the whole DaWanda business but

hopefully that will improve...

Whaaa, ik kan het gewoon niet bijhouden, die tijd!!!

Waar gaat ie zo snel heen en waar blijft ie eigenlijk?

Ik bedoel maar, dit zijn nog foto's van eerste Paasdag...

Maar ik wou ze toch nog even laten zien want we hebben zo lekker

gewandeld en van het mooie weer genoten ;-).

It goes so fast and where is it going anyway?

I mean, these pictures are taken on Easter Sunday....

But I wanted to share them with you anyway because we did have a 

nice walk and really enjoyed the beautiful weather ;-).

'Ventje' zoals ik 'm toch nog maar even blijf noemen denk ik,

kan ik echt niet meer bijbenen tegenwoordig... die heeft me toch de vaart 

erin met wandelen! Niet alleen de tijd gaat snel...

( De foto hierboven met de mooie lucht maakte hij trouwens ).

'Little guy' as I keep on calling him ; I can't keep up with him anymore when

we go for a walk, he's so quick! Not only time goes fast...

Gelukkig past ie af en toe zijn tempo aan aan zijn slome moeder..... :-)

I'm glad he sometimes slows down a bit for his snail-like mother.... :-)

Mandala becomes tablecloth

Toen ik besloot mee te doen aan de "mand-a-long" had ik nog geen idee

wat ik dan zou mandalen.

Ik had nog wel wat bolletjes katoen in mooie kleuren en daar begon ik 

mee te haken.... en te haken etc....

En omdat onze ronde tuintafel nog wel een kleedje kon gebruiken is het dat

dus aan het worden, ha!

When I decided to join the "mand-a-long" I didn't have a clue yet what to mandala.

I did have some balls of cotton yarn waiting in their basket and so I

started to crochet.... and crochet etc....

And because our round garden table was in need of a tablecloth it is becoming

just that!

En eigenlijk passen deze kleuren heel goed bij de tuin...

And actually those colours match just fine with the garden...

Bijna aan het randje van de tafel... en dan ook nog er overheen natuurlijk!

Ik haak nog even fijn verder :-)

(Oops, I just accidentally read "Mandela" 

instead of "Mandala" in the title myself... hope you didn't ;-) )

This week I saw: Mars and Venus

En dan bedoel ik dus de verschillen tussen "man" en "vrouw" !

We moesten een nieuwe cv ketel aanschaffen en daarbij een nieuwe thermostaat ...

Ik dacht: "hoe simpeler hoe beter", maar Mars dacht daar heel anders over!

Dus nu hebben we een soort supersonisch ding aan de muur hangen,

zelfs bedienbaar met je telefoon... (Huh, waarom zou je dat willen???)

Nou ja, hij heeft er een nieuw speeltje  bij en het houd 'm van de straat zullen

we maar zeggen ;-).

And with that I mean the differences between "man" and "woman" !

We had to buy a new boiler and with that a new thermostat...

I thought: "the simpler the better", but Mars had another opinion!

So now we have some supersonic thing hanging on our wall,

you can even set it with your mobile phone... (Huh, why would anyone want to 

do that???)

Anyway, he has a new toy and it keeps him off the streets... ;-)

Ik vond dat zwarte gevalletje niet zo gezellig dus ik 

heb er een vrouwelijke touch aan gegeven...

Ik mocht 'm helaas niet roze schilderen vandaar dat ik het zo heb opgelost.

Een papieren bordje erachter, zo past ie beter bij de rest!

I didn't find that black device very appealing so I 

gave it a female touch....

Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to paint it pink so that's

why I came to the following solution.

A paper plate behind it, so it matches a bit better with the rest!

En zo zijn Mars en Venus weer allebei tevreden,

en ze leefden nog warm en gelukkig ....

And so Mars and Venus are both content,

and they lived happily and warm ever after....
