Na de week van Murphy, ja, ons fornuis hield er ook mee op
en de auto kreeg een lekke band, ben ik dan
nu de kerstspullen aan het uitpakken.
Elk jaar weer leuk om alles terug te zien!
Dit mini kerststalletje-boompje vind ik zo lief...
Het kindje lijkt wel wat op een oud mannetje,
maar alla, hij was tenslotte ook heel wijs ;-).
After Murphy's week, yes, our stove stopped working and
the car had a flat tyre, I am now unpacking the Christmas boxes.
So much fun to see everything again after a year!
This mini nativity-tree is so sweet...
The child looks a bit like an old man,
but he was very wise after all ;-).
Deze oude doos kwam ook weer van zolder.
Hierin zit de complete kerststal van mijn schoonfamilie.
Wat ik hieraan ook zo grappig vindt, is dat de figuren nog in kranten
uit die tijd verpakt zitten!

from my family in law.
What I also like about it, is that de figurines are wrapped
in papers from that date!
En dit zijn ze dan allemaal!
Da's heel wat hè? Zorgvuldig bij elkaar gespaard en bewaard door
de opa en oma van manlief, die ik helaas nooit heb gekend...
Deze kerstfiguren zijn wel wat aan de grote kant wat mij betreft dus wij
gebruiken steeds maar een klein groepje.
Het is nogal wat elke kerst zoveel mensen en dieren te logeren,
dus de rest gaat weer terug in de doos!
(Het schijnt zelfs dat de arme dromedaris ooit oneervol benaderd is
door het hondje van een oom en tante,
maar dat terzijde...)

There are a lot of them, aren't there?
Carefully saved and collected by the husbands grandparents
who I never met unfortunately...
They are a bit too big to my taste, so we only
use a small group of them.
It is a big deal to have such an amount of people and animals
staying over every Christmas,
so the rest goes back into the box!
( By the way, the story goes that the camel was once
assaulted by the dog of and uncle and aunt once,
poor creature!)
Dus wij houden het hierbij,
is ook veel rustiger...
Afgezien van wat geblaat en gescharrel heb
je er weinig last van.
So we only keep these,
much calmer as well...
Apart from some sheep noise and a bit of
pottering around you hardly notice them.
