It's been a long time!

Ondertussen ben ik flink veranderd zoals je ziet ;-)!

We waren twee weken op vakantie: een week in Schotland en een week in Yorkshire, 

Noord -Engeland.

Ik vind het altijd zo moeilijk om dan weer de draad op te pakken op m'n blog,

want waar begin je dan en tussendoor gebeuren er ook weer allerlei dingen en zo!

Ik start maar gewoon met het begin van onze geweldige dagen in Scotland en

dan zie ik wel verder.

And in the meantime I changed quit a bit as you can see ;-)!

We were on Holiday for two weeks: one week in Scotland and one week in Yorkshire.

I find it hard to pick up were I left after such a long time, 

because were do you start and in the meantime lots of other things are happening!

So I just start at the beginning of our fabulous days in Scotland and

go from there on.

Dit was ons thuis op vakantie.

Niet gek hè? Een heerlijk huis bij een boerderij met Schotse Hooglanders en 

heel centraal gelegen in de Trossachs, een schitterend gebied boven Glasgow en 

ongeveer anderhalf uur vanaf Edinburgh; een perfecte uitvalsbasis!

And this was our home on Holiday.

Not bad, isn't it? A very lovely house on a farm with Scottish Highlanders and situated

in the Trossachs, a beautiful area north of Glasgow and one -and a half hour from

Edinburgh; a perfect spot!

Deze leuke boom stond in de achtertuin!

Ben je helemaal in Schotland, maak je foto's van een boom in de achtertuin, nou ja....

Hahaha, ik vond gewoon zoveel mooi hier dat er geen houden meer aan was!

This funny tree was in the backyard!

Are you all the way in Scotland on Holiday, do you photograph a tree in the backyard, right.....

Hahaha, I just loved so many things over there that I couldn't help myself really!

En dan is het in het echt natuurlijk nog veel mooier, zo'n landschap kun 

je amper vatten in foto's....

And of course it's so much better in reality, you can hardly 'catch' such a 

landscape in pictures...

We gingen een dag naar Edinburgh en kwamen eigenlijk een week te kort.

Zo veel te zien en te doen en ook weer zo vreselijk mooi allemaal!

We went to Edinburgh for a day and felt like we needed another week there,

at least.

Again, so much to see and do and so terribly beautiful!

Five on Friday: about cats, flowers and crochet.

Daar ben ik weer op vrijdag; maar goed dat er vrijdagen zijn

anders verscheen er hier weinig op het moment vrees ik.

Van deze foto word ik helemaal vrolijk,

een bosje blommen uit de tuin en een vers afgerond haakwerkje!

Here I am again on Friday;

thank goodness for Friday's otherwise there was not much to see

here at the moment I'm afraid.

This picture makes me happy,

a little bunch of flowers from the garden and

some freshly finished crochet!

Ik kocht dit boekje met onze aanstaande vakantie in mijn achterhoofd,

maar ja, als je er eenmaal in gaat bladeren wil je natuurlijk gelijk aan de gang....

Gelukkig staat er zoveel in dat er nog genoeg over is!

I bought this book with our upcoming Holiday in the back of my mind,

but you know, when you start browsing through it you already want to make one...

Fortunately there is so much in it there's plenty left to do!

En dan is daar nummer twee van deze week: Catoo.

Je zou het zo niet zeggen, maar geloof me, we zijn allemaal compleet gestoord van 

haar geworden de afgelopen dagen!

Ze is krols en loopt continu krijsend door het huis, ook 's nachts worden we er wakker van 

 al zit ze dan beneden en wij boven.

Thuiswerken was voor manlief ook heel lastig want mensen aan de telefoon

bleven ze maar vragen wat dat toch voor een raar geluid was op de achtergrond.

Het arme beestje zal er zelf ook wel niet goed van worden want ze 

komt haast niet meer aan slapen toe.

Na onze vakantie gaat ze naar de dierenarts om te worden 'geholpen', phew...

And there's number two from this week: Catoo.

Now you wouldn't say it when you see her like this, but believe me,

she drove us completely mad these past few days!

She's 'on heat' as the dictionary says, hope that's the correct word,

and she is wandering and screaming through the house all day long,

and even at night we hear her when she's downstairs and we're up.

Working from home was quite an ordeal for husband as people on the phone

kept on asking what that strange noise in the background was.

The poor little thing must be exhausted herself because she hardly 

gets any sleep.

After our Holiday she goes to the vet to be 'helped', phew...

En joepie, onze stoofpeer staat weer in bloei!

Vorig jaar deed ie helemaal niks jammergenoeg maar hopelijk hebben

we nu in het najaar weer een maaltje peren.

And yay, our cooking pear tree is flowering again!

Last year it did nothing whatsoever unfortunately but hopefully this 

year we will have a proper meal from it.

Pippi deed alvast wat snoeiwerk.

Ze was eigenlijk de hele tijd buiten om Catoo te ontvluchten.

Als ze binnen was om snel wat te eten en te drinken en Catoo kwam aan haar

hoofd zeuren (nou ja, krijsen) dan deelde ze een paar tikken uit en ging er weer vandoor.

Pippi already did some pruning.

Actually she was out most of the time to escape Catoo.

When she was in for something to eat or drink and Catoo came bothering her,

she gave a few hits and disappeared again.

In de tuin gaat alles als een speer met dit groeizame weer!

Uhmmm... is dit nummer vier??

In the garden everything goes so fast with this kind of weather!

Uhmmm... is this number four??

Nou ja, dan zal dit nummer vijf wel zijn.

Mooi om mee af te sluiten, toch?

Alvast een heel fijn weekend lieve mensen en tot gauw weer!

Five on Friday

Hallo allemaal, hier weer een 'Vijf op vrijdag'!

Nummer 1: 

een kussen dat ik haakte en waarvan ik zelf de wol ook gesponnen heb.

Hello you guys, here's another 'Five on Friday'!

Number 1 : 

this pillow; I spun the wool myself, very soft merino, 

and then crocheted (?) the cover.

Ik denk dat je op deze foto wel kunt zien dat ik het draad voor de 

bloem zo gesponnen heb dat er verschillende tinten in zitten waardoor

het heel levendig wordt.

I think you can see in this picture that I spun the wool for the flower

with different shades so it gets more lively.

Ik heb geen patroon gebruikt ofzo maar eigenlijk gewoon 

op gevoel 'wild' gehaakt .

I didn't use a pattern or anything but just did 

some 'wild' crochet, you know, go with the flow.

Ik ben er eerlijk gezegd heel blij mee!

Er is er nog een in de maak, met de licht turquoise merino die ik al 

heb gesponnen.

To be honest, I am really chuffed with it!

There's another one on my hook, with the light turqoise merino 

I already spun.

Nummer 2: 

slaplantjes, ze groeien hartstikke goed!

Number 2:

lettuce plants, they are doing so well!

Nummer 3:

foto's van onze na-het-eten- wandelingetjes.

Number 3:

pictures of our after-dinner walks.

Nummer 4:

nog meer haakwerk.

Deze foto gebruikte ik ook op Instagram om mijn favoriete

dekens te laten zien....

Veel lekkerder kun je denk ik niet liggen!

Nummer 5:

de lente is nu dan toch echt begonnen,

ook in onze tuin.

Alles staat er nu zo lekker fris groen en bloesemig bij!

Catching up!

Nou moe, weer een week voorbij; snel maar weer even bijpraten!

Ik ben vooral veel buiten geweest, lekker in de tuin gerommeld en wat planten verplaatst

die toch wat meer ruimte nodig hadden dan ik vorig jaar dacht.

Nadat ik Facebook vaarwel had gezegd na een paar weken

(nee, toch niks voor mij), ben ik nu Instagram aan het proberen, 

tot nu toe vind ik het leuk om plaatjes te kijken bij bekenden en minder bekenden

en er af en toe zelf ook eens wat opzetten.

Well, another week has passed; time to catch up again!

I was outside a lot this week, rummaging in the garden and replacing some plants

that needed a bit more space than I anticipated last year.

I said goodbye to Facebook after just a few weeks (no, not my thing after all),

and I am now trying Instagram, so far so good.

Deze haaksels had ik daar ook al op gezet.

Ik maakte ze omdat ik geen passende potten had en die bruine plastic

dingen waar ze in zitten niet zo plezant vond om naar te kijken.

Lieve schoteltjes hè, die zijn van mijn oma.

These crochet makes I also shared on Instagram already.

I made them because I had no fitting pots and didn't want to look at those

brown, plastic ones these sweet daff's came in.

The little saucers are pretty, aren't they, these are my gran's.

Ik kwam ook nog wat foto's op mijn mobieltje tegen van een wandelingetje

die ik maakte met zoonlief.

Het leverde schitterende luchten op en ook een doorweekt stel kleren,

want die bui in de verte was rap dichterbij gekomen.

Maar, mijn waterproof mascara zat nog waar ie moest zitten,

goeie test!

I also found some pics on my mobile which I took when I went for

a stroll with son.

The skies were amazing but just before we were home we got

soaking wet because that dark sky came closer very fast.

But my waterproof mascara was still where it should be,

the ultimate test!

Ik heb ook nog aardig wat draad gesponnen de afgelopen dagen.

Zo leuk om dan zelf kleuren te mixen om precies de tinten 

te krijgen die de wilt!

I also did some fair amount of spinning the last few days.

So satisfying to mix the colours to get the kind of tread you want!

Deze mooie merino wol werd gesponnen tot twee flinke bollen garen

waar ik dan weer een kussen mee ga haken.

I spun this pretty merino fleece into two big balls of yarn

which I am going to use to crochet a pillow.

Lekker zacht draad !

Nice and soft yarn!

Verder was het ook nog de week waarin veel bloemen nog nét in de 

knop zaten, ook mooi.

It was also a week of buds- that -were -just -not - yet - a- flower,

also pretty.

Nou, dit was een beetje een rommelig blogberichtje,

maar we zijn weer redelijk bij in ieder geval!

Zoals altijd hartstikke gezellig dat je op bezoek komt hier,

dat maakt het bloggen juist zo leuk!

Tot gauw weer!

Well, this was rather a mish-mash of a blog post,

but we had some catching up to do, right?
