just monday

Today is just a typical Monday.

Doing the laundry, shopping, hoovering and things like that..

When the sun is shining for a moment, I grab my camera and take a few pictures of 

my tulips (thanks Jac!) for some much needed colour on this day!

where would we be without books, mums and friends?

I recently bought myself this wonderful crochetbook.

It's full of good ideas and the pictures make you want to run to the closest yarn store

and buy enough to make every pattern yourself!

These two Dutch books I use to learn new stitches.

They were the first books that helped me to start this "new" craft.

And there was the patient help of my mum as well of course!

In Nicki Trench's book I found my next little chrochet project:

a nice and practical hook holder.

I don't have one yet so it's a lovely present for myself I think!

Every Thursday my crafty friends and I come together for cups of tea,coffee, lots of

talking and laughter and last but not least: the fun of making stuff!

At the moment our main thing is crochet, but we also make felt things .

One of them, Nicole, is a professional potter and once in a while we make clay sculptures

which is also great fun to do!

But for tomorrow: I will pick some pretty colours from my yarn stash and have a go

at the needle holder pattern!

crochet and daffodils

Yesterday I couldn't resist an offer at the supermarket so I came home with

 two pots of  daffodils in my shoppingbag; spring was in the air!

Well in my head anyway, it was still freezing...

But those lovely bulbs came in a plastic brown flowerpot so you can probably guess what happened:
I made the daffodils a nice, colourful jacket! Looks much better if I may say so myself...

It's really easy to make, same pattern as a jar jacket and to cover the rim I made a few extra rows with double crochet.

This one is a little present for my mum and dad. Now I have to make a second one for our own home because I'd like to have one myself as well!

Today the weather is really nice!

Little man and I went out to the river to make some pictures of the high water.

When we got there we discovered lots of driftwood in the fields.

We were both happy with it: little man because he could build himself a  hut and I because

I love to collect driftwood to create "stuff".

Don't know what I will do with it yet but I'll think of something !

tussen de buien

Afgelopen zondag zijn we er ondanks het weer toch maar even uitgegaan om de  benen te strekken.

We hebben een museumjaarkaart en komen daardoor wel vaker in het openluchtmuseum, maar het is in alle seizoenen de moeite waard om te bekijken.

Dagje uit

Gisteren een dagje naar Deventer geweest.
Wat is dat toch een leuke stad! M. En ik hebben er zo'n zes jaar gewoond een hele tijd geleden.
Het voelt altijd weer als thuiskomen.
Je kunt er heerlijk winkelen en slenteren door de mooie oude straatjes, het verveelt nooit!

Zulke leuke, unieke winkeltjes zie je niet meer zo vaak helaas!

een nieuw jaar

Heerlijk: uitgeknald, uitgeslapen en een heel nieuw, vers jaar voor de boeg!
